Views on pop culture through my eyes

This week marks the one-year anniversary for this blog! Thanks to everyone who read, looked at, commented on, or reblogged one of my posts.  It has been a wonderful journey. It was nice to know that I could be creative in more than one area in my life. The year has flown by, and I hope to keep everyone interested and entertained for many years to come. Here are some of the highlights from this past year:

Real Men Wear Speedos — I will never live this one down. And why should I? I still feel the same way. Guys look good in them, and men shouldn’t be afraid to show off their bodies if they are in good shape. I am looking forward to wearing mine to a water park this summer. Anyone with me?

Letting Go of the Past — Sure, I can do fun topics. But this one also struck a chord with the community. Everyone can relate to hanging on to things (and people) and that sometimes it is best to just let go. Letting go allows us to grow as individuals.

Real Men Wear Kilts — My second favorite topic. I love the fact that one of my friends asked  “Do you own any pants?” Yes, I do, but if I had my way, I wouldn’t wear them again. Kilts are much more comfortable, I feel like ME, and know that I rock them.

Music — Whether it was a concert or CD review, or a recap of Teen Pop of the 2000s, I shared my love of music with you. I love so many different styles: rock, pop, country, R&B, dance. Music is part of my life and always will be. I enjoy discovering new artists as well as listening to old favorites. And yes, I can often be seen rocking the kilt at concerts.

Reality shows — Guilty pleasures are now big with a lot of people. Whether it is hanging out with my buds at the Jersey Shore, or being thankful that my family gets along better than the Braxtons, or rooting for that funky new singer on the latest singing competition show — one thing is clear, reality ain’t going anywhere.

Sexuality — It is refreshing to know that society is slowly becoming more accepting of gays and lesbians. I look forward to a day when being gay is no longer any issue at any level: in families, in schools, with marriage equality being finally realized for all. We are all part of the human race, it doesn’t matter who you sleep with. Be you!

Thanks again for making this blog a big success! I look forward to bringing you much more from my side of the world.
